Patchouli

Origin

A bushy herb of the mint family grown across Indonesia and India, its leaves dried and distilled for an oil that only improves with age. Traders once scented their silk shipments with it, and the leaf became inseparable from luxury cloth.

Dark, earthy and dry — cellar wood, damp soil and cocoa. It anchors sweetness and gives a composition its shadow.
